Sonia and Alex's flower story
My walk with the dog yesterday was beautiful. As we were walking along Stowe avenue under a canopy of Autumnal trees it reminded me of Sonia and Alex’s wedding last year. This was the last wedding of the year and we definitely finished the 2019 wedding season in style.
Sonia and Alex got married at the end of October at the Landmark hotel, London and wanted to embrace the variety of rich colours and texture that Autumn has to offer.
The inspiration for Sonia and Alex’s colour palette was taken from a row of trees just as they move from Autumn to winter. Think tones of red, burgundy, orange and the odd pop of pink and yellow and you’ve got the idea. Couple that with lots of flickering candlelight, gold pumpkins and you have the beginnings of a very romantic wedding.
Sonia wanted her Chuppah to be a beautiful statement piece but one that looked natural, almost as if it had grown there with plenty of movement. Birch tree trunks and twisted hazel formed the base of the Chuppah and branches of greenery and armfuls of flowers were placed over the top. And what a flower palette there was. Lots of late summer roses, branches of arching euphorbia and the last of the year’s dahlias. Placed around the bottom of the chuppah were flower filled meadow boxes designed to look as if they were growing from the floor.
Elegant bouquets for the bridal party complemented the look and the reception tables were decorated with berries, candlelight and roses. Such a gorgeous wedding to be part of and one full of my favourite things - flowers, romance and lots of laughter.
