Becca and Mikey's flower story
Wild and informal with lots of foliage was Becca and Mikey’s brief for me. Becca loved foliage of all shapes and sizes and wanted her wedding flowers to incorporate lots of texture, scent and movement.
Their late May wedding landed in the precious couple of weeks where Spring flowers and peonies are available at the same time. And so we had the most gorgeous flower palette to choose from. I used peonies (of course!), sweet peas, viburnum, spiraea and spray roses and then lots and lots of foliage.
Becca and Mikey’s wedding venue, Stratton Court Barn, is a gorgeous cosy barn tucked away in the Oxfordshire countryside. Surrounded by rolling fields it is a real beauty (and it’s only a few miles from my studio which is an added bonus!)
Anyway, back to the flowers. Bouquets are always a treat and are one of my favourite pieces to make. Becca’s scooped up bouquet was full of peonies, roses, sweet peas, viburnum, spiraea, jasmine trails.and finished with silk ribbons. All her bridesmaids carried delicate scoops of foliage and jasmine. This was a beautifully considered look, bridesmaids carrying foliage bouquets are one of my favourite looks.
Becca and Mikey wanted a statement flowery arch to frame them both as they said their vows. As we were going for a romantic natural look we used branches of beech to create a lovely swaying look. Then we went big with the rest of the foliage and lots of peonies, roses and bunches of sweet peas. The room smelled just gorgeous.
Reception tables were were filed with elevated asymmetric wild arrangements. And their long top table was dressed with a luxe flower filled garland full of roses. Nothing was the same and everything was full of texture and interest and looked wildly romantic. Just perfect for this gorgeous country wedding.
Huge thank you to Becca and Mikey for trusting me with their vision,
