The Flower Story

Flowers go haute couture

Once in a while something special happens when a groups of talented wedding suppliers get together.  This styled shoot took place earlier this year and was masterminded by Tricia D'Costa.  She wanted a fashion forward look for a bold bride. Taking our inspiration from the recent Dior catwalk the dresses, the florals, the cakes, in fact everything had to be over the top beautiful. And bold. This was a chance for our bride to be a queen for the day.

It was decided that the florals would be muted shades of pink, apricot and nude which would stand out against the gorgeous dresses from Bowen Dryden.  Look at that grey ruffled skirt, isn't it the most incredible piece of bridal wear ever?

The idea of being a queen for the day moved us towards designing some statement head pieces.  Clemmie provided the most beautiful golden crowns and I went big with the flowers. Our model, Chloe-Jasmine completely rocked her huge floral crown which was full of roses, ranunculus and spirea.

And, of course, all queens need a throne surrounded by flowers. This statement floral archway framed Chloe-Jasmine and her sumptuous cake laden table. For flower lovers we used dusky eucalyptus foliage, ferns, tulips, roses, spray roses, cherry blossom branches and ranunculus.

This was an amazing collaboration to work on and the resulting shots are just breathtaking.

More images from this shoot can be seen in Vow magazine. And we even made the front cover!
