How to make a floral arch
I love a dramatic flowery entrance to a wedding. And I'm not talking about a few sprigs of foliage wound round an iron railing. I love floral arches heavy with flowers and full of foliage.
Often, when I talk to brides about their flowers we talk about one 'wow' piece. This can be a luxurious overflowing floral urn for your ceremony or a long top table reception piece packed full of texture and flowers. Or, it can be an archway. Your 'wow' piece creates a focal point, and it signals to your guests that they have arrived at a pretty special celebration.
This statement arch was made for Nicola and Jonathan's Spring wedding earlier this year. As you can see your flowers don't have to cover the entire arch to make their point. This half arch framed their church entrance beautifully. My brief for their arch was natural but not too crazy. We went for bold oranges, greens, reds and a touch of blue.
This very short video shows you how I put it together. And, watch out for the cameo from Daisy the dog!
