Although it has been cold there has been a good few hours of sun today, the first of my snowdrops are up and it feels like we are heading into Spring. Which is my absolute favourite time of year.

As I was walking the dog today I remembered this beauty of a shoot. Shot almost a year ago it was the front cover for the first ever edition of The British Bride Magazine. Launched last year it is the brainchild of James Clarke and Lindsay Pemberton and is one of the newest online and print bridal magazines for couples who are getting married. Full of advice, ideas and fashion it is a bit of a good read.

Anyway, on a cold Spring day last February a group of super suppliers gathered together at Chicheley Hall to put something special together for the front cover. The brief was elegant, neutral with a pop of the unexpected (in my case coral and orange!) Chicheley Hall is one of my favourite venues (I’m a preferred supplier there!) and was the perfect backdrop for such an elegant shoot.

Flower wise we went full on with the flowers with just the tiniest touch of foliage. This is a look I love and, after a few years of luscious foliage heavy pieces, it is a look that is starting to come back into fashion. The flower palette was full of vibrant poppies, plenty of garden roses, spirea, ranunculus and lilac. Arrangement wise I went for a loose bouquet making the most of the crazy poppies, lots of table vases and a beautiful vibrant head dress. Our model was a superstar and just looked stunning.

It was a great day full of comedy moments, sudden gusts of very strong wind and lots of very pretty details. Oh, and it was cold. So so cold.
